Progressive security
organizations have seen IT Operations shift from the CIO's
IT organization over to the CISO. This has been a gradual
evolution in the corporate world, but the end state has long
been understood within the US Air Force (USAF) and other
Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, who were on the front
lines of APT's well before the commercial sector. This
session will discuss the need for maturing our security
organizations by unifying security with the basic blocking
and tackling of IT - what we call IT operations today.
You'll hear about:
- The operational model
developed by the USAF (spoiler alert: no separation of
IT and security teams)
- Why progressive,
mature security organizations have IT Operations sitting
in Security
- Asset Inventory as a
use case for this new operational model
